The most exhausted journey throughout I have to say, is to the Tonle Sap Lake. It was 30-45mins ride away from the Siem Reap City Central on a tuk tuk. Along the way, you will see the true village survivors. The only current use was a light bulb at night. We were the last boat back to the land. We pay little, so we got the slow boat. It was total darkness at the lake. We are advice not to turn on the lights, other than the light switch on by the ' captain '. He definitely know the way out. Otherwise it will draw a lot insects to the light points. The Tonlé Sap is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and is an ecological hot spot that was designated as a UNESCO biosphere in 1997. An eye opening for me on how people lives elevated on the river. We had it in Malaysia for the fish villagers, well, we live so much better, we have TV, we have radio, we have food from the market, we have proper shower rooms.
